Spring Topic: World War Two
Welcome to Spring Two
It is hard to believe we are half way through this academic year already. The children have made good progress and have really bonded as a group.
In Autumn term we explored ancient Rome together and we are now spending spring term learning about World War Two. The children already have a great wealth of knowledge about the dates and key leaders of this time. The learning in class has been greatly enhanced by families providing artefacts and medals from their own relatives. This has really bought our learning to life. We will continue this topic in Spring Two and I am really looking forward to developing this topic further with the children.
I trust that this will be a year that your child will look back on fondly. I firmly believe that the best learning takes place when parents and teachers are working together to help each child achieve their full potential. If at any point you wish to speak to me to discuss your child and their learning please contact the office on 01787 372107 to arrange a time, I will also try to be around on the playground after school on Mondays and Fridays or you can drop me a message on Dojo and I will seek to get back to you as soon as I am able.
There are still a few parents who have not connected to our class Dojo, if you need a new invite or any help in setting this up do please let me know.
If I can be of any help please do not hesitate to get in contact.
Vision & Ethos
Our Class Vision
To be a community of learners who set an example through being brave, kind and diligent.
The ethos of our class is in keeping with our School values of;
Potential, Opportunity, Team, Knowledge, Intrinsic, Learning, Nurture
The ethos of our classroom underpins all that we do. I believe the starting point for learning is a positive ethos and climate of respect and trust based upon shared values across the school community, which includes you the parents. As a school we have a fantastic culture and ethos where everyone is striving to ‘be the best they can be’.
All adults in the class contribute to our shared ethos through:
- – Open, positive, supportive relationships where pupils feel that they are listened to.
- – Promoting a climate in which the pupils feel safe and secure.
- – Modeling behaviour that promotes effective learning and wellbeing within the class and wider school community.
- – Being sensitive and responsive to each child’s wellbeing.
This half term we will be continuing to explore fractions and decimals.
In history we will be looking at the life of Anne Frank.
In Science we will be exploring sound.
In Art we will be looking at the work of Henry Moore
