I thought it would be useful to summarise some of the information needed by families as there are lots of events between now and the end of the year.
School reports for all current children will be given out on Wednesday 12th July. Each report is individualised and contains results of any statutory testing. In addition the reports also clarify which class your children will be part of in September.
Your child(ren) will be experiencing their next year group in July and we wanted to clarify arrangements. All children excluding Nursery will need to be on the playground for 8:30 am and line up in their new classes where they will be collected by their new class teacher (Reception, Years 1 and 2 on the bottom playground / Years 3-6 on the top playground).
Nursery children moving to Reception
Children will be attending on the mornings of Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th July from 9am until lunchtime. Parents are asked to join their child’s class teacher at 11am on Monday 17th for a brief meeting followed by a school lunch.
Children will also stay for lunch on Tuesday 18th (either school meal or packed lunch).
Current Reception, Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y5 moving to the next year
All children in these year groups will spend two whole days (17th & 18th July) with their new teacher in their new classroom.
Children joining Nursery
Parents and their children have been invited to come for a meeting at 9:30am on Tuesday
18th July. This will give children and parents a chance to see the nursery and meet the team.
Current Y6 moving to upper school
If your child is joining Sudbury Ormiston Academy – they will attend Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th July, returning to Pot Kiln on Friday 14th July.
If your child is joining Thomas Gainsborough School – they will attend Thomas Gainsborough from Thursday 13th July until Wednesday 19th July. They will be back at Pot Kiln for their last two days.
No further changes to uniform have been implemented therefore the expectations remain the same:-
The Pot Kiln School Uniform is smart, practical and good value for money. Our school colours are Royal Blue and Gold. Pupils in Early Years and Key Stage One (from Nursery to year 2) wear gold polo shirts and royal blue sweatshirts or cardigans. Pupils in Key Stage Two (from year 3 to 6) wear a Pot Kiln tie with a white shirt and royal blue v-neck jumper or cardigan.
Our uniform items are listed and available to order online from www.gooddies.co.uk Gooddies process the website orders twice a month on the 15th and 30th. All orders received before these cut off days will be delivered within 10-15 working days. Deliveries can be made free of charge to the school in named bags or direct to your home address at a cost of £6.50 per order. You will be able to log on to your account at any time and check the progress of the order. You will also receive an email from Gooddies with a tracking number once they have despatched your order.

No items of jewellery, Alice bands or slides can be worn during swimming lessons or swimming clubs.
- Outdoor Learning
Waterproof all in one or waterproof raincoat and trousers/dungarees and waterproof footwear such as wellies.
Please name all clothing in bold writing as we regularly have ‘lost property’ full of un-named items.
This term we have seen some non-compliance of uniform such as no tie being worn and pupils sent to school in trainers rather than shoes. May I remind you non-uniform forms part of our behaviour policy and sanctions will be applied to those pupils concerned. As parents can you please ensure your children come to school in the correct attire.
Please note you will need to place uniform orders with Gooddies by 30th July to ensure their delivery prior to the start of the new term.
