They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Every year at Pot Kiln we take time out of our usual timetable to remember those who lost their lives serving our country. This is a huge part of celebrating our British values. For the last two years we have been joined by Len Manning who survived WW2 when his Lancaster Bomber was hit in 1944.
He is a true celebrity for our children and they all enjoy hearing his stories and spending time with him.
Once all the children had planted their own poppies and laid class wreaths, our entire school community came together for a two minute silence outside.
The children sang
“Turn your thoughts on this occasion
To those who fought and died in the war
Years have passed and time has forgotten
But we will remember the soldiers once more”
