Speak with the class teacher
We encourage parents of all our pupils to keep in close contact with the school – it’s nearly always possible to speak with the class teacher for a moment or two before or after school, and a longer discussion can be arranged within a day or two. If you would prefer, meetings can be arranged virtually. Reception and Year 1 class also use Tapestry which is a communication platform between school and home if you would like to find out more about this, please contact you class teacher. Similarly, Year 2, 3, 4, 5, nd 6 classes, use Seesaw to provide a link between home and school as well as a platform for providing home learning tasks.

Put your views in writing
When you attend a parents’ evening you will be invited to complete a a survey which includes questions relating to Ofsted inspection criteria and will be about teaching, learning, behaviour and safety, and leadership. There’s always space for you to express your views, too.
We also welcome any views or concerns you may have. These can be dropped of at the school office or emailed to the school via firstname.lastname@example.org
Parent View gives you the chance to tell Ofsted what you think about Pot Kiln Primary School. It asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of school, from the quality of teaching to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. Ofsted uses the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect, and when. We aim to use all feedback to help us with our continious journey of improving standards.
Please remember that if your feedback is specific to your own child, it might be better to also contact the school directly so we can respond quickly and specifically to help your child.
Look out for our communications
Your questions, comments or concerns are often answered in our communications. We publish a weekly newsletter which is sent home electronically and is uploaded to the website weekly too. This is in addition to other letters which are sent home whenever there is important news.
We send home paper copies of essential communications. However, we increasingly use other ways to communicate and as an eco-school we aim to keep the amount of paper letters to a minimum. There are various ways for you to receive our news and updates electronically. The website is kept up to date weekly and is the central point of information.
We also use Twitter (@PotKilnPrimary) to celebrate great things our children have achieved. This updated regularly. We also have a Facebook page (Pot Kiln Primary) which also is kept up to date regularly and is aimed at providing an alternative source of information about the school to the website. Please ask the school office how to become a member of the private Facebook Group.
Make a complaint
If you would like to raise a concern, or make a complaint please follow the guidelines set out in our complaints policy which can be found under the key information tab at the top of this page. We use any feedback to help us improve our standards and appreciate any areas of concern which are brought to our attention.
